1901 WS Game 5

The Tigers capture the inaugural CTSBL World Series by dominating the Cards 10-0 in Game 5.  Schoolboy Rowe gets the win for The Tigers with a 5 hit shutout to win him POG.

1901 WS Game 4

The Tigers take a commanding 4-1 lead in the series with a 7-2 win. Billy Rogell the SS for the Tigers becomes the first non-pitcher to win a POG in this series but  Tiger pitcher Tommy Bridges helped his own cause by going 4-4 at the plate with 3 runs scored and an RBI.  3B Mickey Owen also contributed with 3 Sac Bunts in the game.

1901 WS Game 4

The Cards finally win a game by scoring 1 in the bottom of the 8th to break a 2-2 tie.  The Tigers helped them by committing 3 errors in the game

1901 WS Game 3

Detroit goes up 3-0 in the best of 9 series with a 4-2 win. Schoolboy Rowe gets the win (and makes it 3 straight SP's getting POG so far) while Tex Carleton of the Cards gives up 14 hits and 4 runs

1901 WS Game 2

Tigers win in 11 innings, Cards scored 1 in the top of 11 but the Tigers came back to drive in 2 vs the Cards 4th pitcher of the game Jim Mooney who only appeared in 17 games during the regular season.


Tommie Bridges (SP Tigers) who went 10 innings (151 pitches!!) and Marberry gets the win in the 11th.

1901WS Game 1

Tigers win 4 -1 behind Auker and Marberry while Dizzy Dean took the loss despite both teams having only 7 hits each.  Auker helped his own cause with 2 RBI's on a triple in the 4th while 3B Mickey Owens drove in 2 others.
